hi! sumi ink is really cool and fun to use. After doing some line work with sumi, adding in a little bit of color with watercolor will do the trick.

coldpress is just a type of watercolor paper :)

Yeah I hope to use sumi ink soon (I'm a lover of asian art/culture). How different is sumi ink from watercolor? I've barely used watercolor(mostly for school projects).

Sumi ink is pretty similar to watercolor in terms of handling.
The color is really different though. Black color from a watercolor or ink is more of a cool black, but the sumi ink black has a bit of a warmer feeling, and also when used straight, it has a sort of s sheen when it dries. Very beautiful :)

I would have thought sumi ink to be darker. Hmm. Good to know. Thanks!
